Chad & lorrie Hinton

Chad began his career as a carpenter and learned his craft from some of the best custom builders in the Bobcaygeon area. At just 17, he became a licensed captain and operated the Caravelle II on Rice Lake until 2008, at which time he purchased R&R Houseboat Rentals. He began with a fleet of 8 small boats and moved the business from Gannons Narrows to Kawartha Lakes Marina.

In 2012 he purchased 16 houseboats in need of major repair from Rideau Lakes Houseboats. Using his home shop, he repaired and refurbished these boats to increase his fleet to thirteen 40′ and 44′ boats.

In the spring of 2013 Lorrie joined Chad and began working with him.
During the winter of 2018 Chad designed, and with the help of his construction team, completed our first 60′ Luxury houseboat, A Little R And R.

In the spring of 2018 Randy, Chad and Lorrie purchased Kawartha Lakes Marina and built a new shop on the property that holds up to four 60′ houseboats. The construction of Suzy Q was completed during the spring of 2019 and our third 60′ boat, Dory was completed in the spring of 2022.

Chad is continually looking for ways to improve the boating experience. His next project is to design and build a fully electric powered boat!
